Sunda Tiger 

             The Sunda tiger is found only in small parts of the Sunda islands of Indonesia. These islands house tigers, orangutans, rhinos, and elephants, which establishes it as a healthy and biodiverse location.

              Unfortunately, there are only four hundred Sunda tigers documented still living in the wild today. The rise of extreme poaching not only drastically decreased the Sunda population, but also caused the extinction of the Java and Bali tiger species. Poachers kill the tigers for their bones and sell them to locals in the ever-growing market. 

               Deforestation is another huge issue for this species because when their native habitat is destroyed, the tigers migrate into human territories looking for shelter and food sources. This allows more hunters to kill under "rightful justification." Luckily, the Indonesian government and conservation activists are fighting to end poaching and wrongful killing by implicating stricter laws and punishments for poachers. By supporting the Indonesian government and advocating for more protected wildlife land, we can save the Sunda tiger from extinction.
